June DT Picks

Hello, Karen here again with my favourites from June.  This month we were given various Kaisercraft ranges.

My two favourites from Katherine are this one

I love how she has used this vintage photo and embellished it beautifully but has stayed true to her own style with the strokes of white paint.

and I love all the different clocks on this one.  Katherine gives details of the products and methods she uses over on the June Gallery.

My favourite ones from me are the ones that I used the Secret Garden range on.  I particularly loved this one which reminds me of a lovely day we had together. I used stickers, Prima flowers and an origami bow I made from the paper to embellish this page.

Of course I had to have this one as it used the Secret Garden range, which I love and a photo of Gracia when she was three which is one of my all time favourite photos.  I cut the giant G out on my Silhouette and only used a few embellishments to finish it off.

There are more inspiration using various Kaisercraft ranges on the June Gallery over at ATDML.

Kaisercraft Cards

Hello lovely ladies.  Have you seen the papers that Kaisercraft have developed especially for card makers?  They are designed to make quick and easy cards and I used some from two different ranges to make cards this month.  The papers were really perfect - I used this one from the Secret Garden range,

with some scraps of paper and stickers to make these two cards

and this one from the Say Aloha range,

with some stickers and scraps of paper, to make these two.

Honestly, I made four cards in just over an hour - a record for me!

There are several other papers in the new Kaisercraft ranges that are designed to be used on cards, why don't you pop over to the shop and have a look.

June Virtual Crop Class 3 with Mel

Welcome to class number 3 for this month. I hope you have enjoyed Karen and Denise's classes, I am sure you will agree it has been lovely to have Denise back with us for a guest spot - we have missed her :)

My class uses the gorgeous Telegraph Road from Kaisercraft and I have two quite different styles o layouts. If you didn't get the kit the class can easily be recreated with any range that features the very popular 3x4 card design papers.

To see layout 2 and to download the PDF instructions click here.

Please remember to pop on over to the facebook group to share your layouts or leave a comment and a link on this blog post.

Happy Scrapping!

June Virtual Crop - Class 2 with Denise

Hello, Hello, I am sure you were expecting Denise but I'm afraid it's Karen although I am bringing you the gorgeous class that Denise has designed using Simple Stories Legacy papers.

Suggested Photo Requirement.
Layout
One 4 x 4 sepia photo but colour or black and white would work

Mini Book
Four landscape 3 3/4 wide x 2 3/4 deep photos black and white but colour would work
One portrait 2 3/4 wide x 3 3/4 deep black and white but colour would work

Denise has made this beautifully romantic layout as the first part of her class and then made a back to back book for the second part.  These books are really easy to make and I recommend you try as she has written some really easy instructions on how to make one.

You can download Denise's instructions here and upload photos of your projects here.

Next up at 2pm is Mel with her fabulous class.

June Virtual Crop - Class 1 with Karen

Hello, hello, hello you lovely ladies are you ready and rearing to go with another virtual crop day?  I am up first with a two page class.

Suggested Photo Requirement
Layout 1 - One photo 4 inches wide and 3 inches tall.
Two photos 2 inches wide and 2 ½ inches tall.
Four photos 3 ½ inches wide and 2 ½ inches tall. Layout 1 - one photo 7 inches wide and 5 inches tall

The first is quite girly, as you would expect from me,

and features a pocket with additional photos and journaling - lots of it.

The second page is more masculine and uses the cute little dress up dolls - who amongst us doesn't remember these from the Bunty comic?

I can't wait to see your versions of this class, the instructions are here and you can add photos of your pages here

Next up, at midday, is Denise with some of her usual marvelous creations!

June Virtual Crop Challenge

Welcome back to another Saturday of Virtual Crop inspiration from members of your ATDML design team. I am going to do a quick introduction to what our virtual crops are all about for those new of taking part for the first time (welcome).

Imagine you have packed up our bags and gone to a hall with friends to spend the day scrapbooking. The crop organiser gives you a kit and some instructions and off you go. Well today is just like that without the hassle of packing up your bags, and with online friends and classes instead :)
You do not have to have a kit for the class to take part. You do not have to do all the classes, you do not have to join in the challenge either - but we hope you do! The aim is to enjoy the creative process and hopefully be inspired by the projects shared. The challenge is below and the classes will be posted here at 10am, noon and 2pm with links to download the instructions. You can use the pictures of the classes without instructions to create your own pages inspired by what you see without the contraint of measuring, or you can follow along with the kit (if you have it) or substitute papers of your own and follow along. Your layouts do not have to be exact copies!! Just have fun and be inspired. If you have any questions please comment below or post on our Facebook group ATDML # Create

So now to our challenge for today. As you know I set these each month based on a day in history and today is a personal one for me. On this day in 2003 I married my best friend.

So lets see those layouts inspired by weddings, rings or love in general. Nice broad challenge so I look forward to seeing many examples in our gallery! See you back here at 10am for our first class of the day :)

Time travel with Kaisercraft.....

We got sent some beautiful Kaisercraft papers this month, and this page is a mix of Blue Bay and also  Betsy's Couture - which has the lovely clock acetate in it.  I started off with strips of torn paper, and then covered them in some clear gesso (a new purchase!).  Once I'd done this I then got out my cosmic shimmer mists in Peacock and Twilight night.  I used water and drips of mist to make a watercolour background that has a beautiful shimmer too.  I then cut out several of the clocks and layered them up, I also used a Tando chipboard clock with some silver embossing powder and a layer of brown stazon ink too.  Then the photo...and some of the beautiful Heidi Swapp glitter sticks we got in our retreat pack.

Perfect for some time travelling!

Month in 5 - May

Hello lovely people.

I am back with another double page for my 'Month in 5 Photos' series that I am participating in this year.  It is a simple alternative to Project Life and a perfectly manageable way to get your five favourite photos, each month, off your phone/camera and onto paper.  The format I use is my favourate photo large on the left side and four smaller photos on the right.  In May I used Simple Stories 'I Am'.

This has been a really nice way to record the events of each month in a quick and simple way.

Birthday Layouts

Tomorrow my older daughter Isabelle turns 10. A whole decade and it has gone so quickly!

It made me think about how pleased I am to have been a scrapper since before she was born. As I get ready with the camera tomorrow I know I will be adding to the pile o birthday photos I have yet to scrap but that doesn't bother me, I don't scrap chronologically anyway and I love that the albums I keep from each year o their life are varied in terms of my scrapping style, the products used etc...

I have added below 5 layouts featuring her birthday photos over the years - one day I might be caught up, I'm not sure but I am also totally ok with that, so long as I have the photos they will make it to an album one day!!

1st Birthday (and also Service of Thanksgiving day)

2nd Birthday

3rd Birthday

7th Birthday (during which she had an AWFUL bout of Chicken Pox!)

9th Birthday - this LO was a class by Ann or last year's Cyber Crop
