A Couple of Cards with Webster's Pages

Good morning all - this month we have the beautiful Webster's Pages to play with in our DT kits.
I'm a bit of a flowery pretty papers sort of girl and as well al layouts I decided to make a couple of cards this month.
I set to with some punches and a couple of card blanks and made these.

One of the 12 x 12 sheets had a whole page of sayings on it
The 'shoe ' one made me smile so for the first card I found an image and made a little easel card.
Then I used a square scalloped punch and a little flower punch to make the second card. The design team will be taking their projects to the forthcoming retreat to show in a gallery - so I know there will be some fabulous projects from everyone to see.

Graphic 45 DTcall...I need you!!

It's that time of year when Graphic 45 ask people to apply to be on their design team. Being such a lover of all things Graphic 45 I have to give it a go. The application is in the form of a blog post and the more support I can get on my blog the better my chances I think!
My application is here on my blog... I'd really appreciate your comments.
Here is my video application...

Thanks in anticipation of your help!

Sleepy mornings with Websters

The shop is packed full of new and beautiful papers, and I was really excited to have  a play with some of Adrienne Loamans Sweet Routine collection.

My inspiration for this page was from the 'morning' journal card that comes with the new Sweet Routine papers by Websters (here is the link).  I started with some white card stock and then used gold gelatos and a little circular sponge that comes with it to make the random gold circles across the page.  Like the card all the detail was going in the middle, and I layered up my photo with some of the different papers - mainly using the white side to give it that peaceful look, but you can see hints of the other pinks and blues that are in this paper range.  I also stitched around them and piled the ends of the threads up, sticking them with little bits of glue and some of the rhinestones in my kit.

There are some lovely embellishments you can just cut from the paper - like the butterfly, and I made a little banner with the word peaceful from one of the offcuts of paper too.  The alphabets are by Glitz and American Crafts.

New Year New You - February

I cannot believe that February came and went in the blink of an eye.  I hope your February was a fabulous as mine was.

I had a birthday and a wedding anniversary albeit on the same day.  My lovely girl came home for a weekend of fun.  We have been to the beach, walked the dog in what seemed like a bog but was in fact the local heath and experimented with different cupcake recipes.

But my big change this month is a new hair colour and cut!

It is quite radical for me and took a little getting used to but I like how easy it is to style and the fact that it more or less stays in that style all day.

I added a couple of flowers and a fancy brad from my stash.

You don't have to have taken the class to join in and if you would like me to upload your February page please email it to nyny2014@btinternet.com or just leave a comment telling us what you have been up to this month!

Happy Holiday

Seeing Ann's mini album in the ATDML gallary reminded me of a little album I started at Christmas and finished at Ann's crop in February.  I had purchased a pack of Simple Stories Daily Grind as a Christmas present to myself - well how else does a girl get exactly what she wants? I then decided to make an interactive mini album with photographs of our summer holiday.

I wanted to make a small album that I could get plenty of photos in and to try a few interactive techniques.

It has a double slider on the front page - pulling the top card makes the bottom one pop out also!

Lots of pages with pockets of various shapes and sizes for my photographs

A double centre page.

And finally a little flip book with four pages for a series of photos of Gracia and Josh at the beach.

So there we are - a little 6 x 4 mini album that has a total of  28 photos in!  A perfect reminder of a perfect holiday.
